Summa Cum Laude
Benjamin graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree from Missouri University of Science and Technology in 2018 and is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Missouri. His background includes research in computational thermal analysis, where he developed methods for predicting the thermal response of metal powder beds used in additive manufacturing.
Since joining Schaefer Engineering in 2018, Benjamin has performed analyses of vehicular accidents, product and system failures, industrial equipment, and fire and explosion losses.
Benjamin specializes in solving technically complex forensic engineering problems, and has developed new methodologies, computational tools, and analytical workflows for applying advanced technologies to forensic engineering investigations. He applies first-principles engineering to evaluate physical evidence, reconstruct events, and determine how mechanical systems operated or failed. His work combines engineering calculations, data analysis, and experimental testing to evaluate system behavior, test hypotheses, and reconstruct events.
